Eve is gearing up to tie the knot with her British entrepreneur beau Maximillion Cooper later this week, but the busy star took a moment out of wedding preparations to sit down and chat with HELLO! online about her upcoming nuptials.
The rapper, born Eve Jihan Jeffers, and Maximillion, 41, had been dating for four years when he surprised her with a diamond ring on Christmas Day during their holiday in Scotland.
"It was a surprise," she revealed. "My friends and Max call me 'Detective Jeffers', but when he proposed, I was off my game. It was honestly such a surprise, and I don't know how he kept it from me. He wasn't weird or off, so I just ignored it. He got me."
The star, 35, has only had six months to plan the nuptials but it has been enough time to find the perfect location and her dream wedding dress.
"We get married at the end of Gumball in Ibiza, and we felt it was only right because we met at Gumball. We're incorporating Gumball, because it's really like a big family," she said. "When you're on the road for those days, you share so much of your time together that it makes sense."
As for her dress, she has chosen one of Kate Middleton's favourite designers, Alice Temperley. "She's amazing and her stuff is so beautiful. She's just a really cool person so I feel really lucky. It's custom-made!" Eve continued.
She is, however, keeping mum about the honeymoon destination. "We're not going immediately after, but it will probably be around August/September. We have three places in mind, but we haven't picked one yet."
The Let Me Blow Ya Mind hit-maker describes her future husband, who has four children from a previous relationship, as the ideal package. Not only is he a brilliant race driver and skateboarder but he owns a successful international racing company.
"He is a really great businessman, but he's a great father and partner. He's a great friend – I really believe I got really lucky," she says. "At first I thought, 'This isn't going to last, he has four children!'. Then I met the children. They are honestly the sweetest and coolest kids."
The American artist is based in the UK, a place she now looks forward to returning to.
"It's crazy to me that I can call London home. Every time I land at Heathrow I get really excited. I love it. It's so different to the US, the fashion here is great."
Following her wedding, Eve will have to fly to the US, where she is working on an exciting new comedy project for network ABC. "Right after we get married, I have to go to LA for two weeks and work on it, to find a writer and a cast. Then, we have to shoot the pilot, so we don't know if it’s going to get picked up until next year. I'm really excited about it."
The new comedy revolves around an interracial relationship, but she insists it is not about her and Maximillion.
"People think it's about me, but it isn't. It's an interracial relationship. I'm not going to be me, and whoever plays opposite me isn't going to be Max. It's very, very loosely based off of us. We haven't even decided if the character will be my boyfriend or husband yet!"
She also has something else in the pipeline — children. "I can’t wait, I honestly can't wait. It's really nice, especially as he's such a great father," Eve smiled.
